Yale Legacy Partners honors alumni, family, and friends who have made a bequest or planned gift to the university. Donations from Yale Legacy Partners have a profound impact on the university. Members have endowed chairs and scholarships, created fellowships, supported the university's museums, and contributed to facility initiatives. Each year the development office hosts a luncheon to honor the membership.
Designing the invitation and day-of materials for this event presents several challenges. Each year's design must be a unique and compelling one or two-color piece that incorporates the Yale Legacy Partner’s logo and/or elements of the logo. Given the older demographic of the membership, careful consideration must be given to color contrast and the size of the typeface to ensure legibility.
